Hickory Hill Plantation

Saltwork Artifacts
Salt kettles and a portion of wood pipeline
Salt Kettles
There are four salt kettles at the Old Slave House. These two on the left are the largest. The smaller one on the right covers a fourth kettle.
Pipeline
The wood pipe in the picture to the left is smaller than the typical pipeline described in the early descriptions. Thus, it may not be from the network of pipes laid between the salt wells and the furnaces. Instead, it may be a from the piping directly at either the well, or the furnace area.
